🙂‍↕️ This is what happens when we start learning directly from the communities.

During our recent Learning Journey in Guatemala, Glasswing board members John Moore , , , and Ken Baker, alongside our Co-Founder and President , spent time listening to young people, educators, health workers, and community leaders who are shaping change every day.

👉 Through conversations, shared experiences, and time spent in communities, they gained a deeper understanding of both the challenges people face and the strengths that drive lasting change.

Meaningful impact begins with listening, learning, and showing up. 💛

“Today we're going to do something good, something different.” 🌱

At 15, César joined Jóvenes Líderes de Impacto without knowing how much it would shape his future. Through his service-learning experience, he went from supporting activities in his school to speaking in front of groups, organizing community initiatives, and discovering his potential as a leader.

Today, he is studying Accounting and continues looking for ways to give back to his community.'

Through the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, young people like César are gaining opportunities to learn, lead, and create change where they live. 💛

💡 Our Co-Founder and President, , joined leaders from across the region at the GLI Forum in Lima to explore how investing in women’s health can unlock opportunities far beyond healthcare.

One message stood out: lasting solutions happen when we stop working in silos and start seeing the full picture of people’s lives.

Thank you to Carmen Correa and for creating spaces where bold ideas and collective action come together. 💛

🍃 For over 30 years, Pedro Rodríguez has listened to stories of pain, hope, and healing. And through every conversation, one truth has remained clear: human connection protects our mental health.

In his TED talk, Pedro speaks about what his patients have taught him: telling our stories is an act of courage, and hope often begins the moment someone dares to seek help, ask for support, or believe that change is still possible.

👉 “If those who suffered had the courage to tell their story, we have the responsibility to listen.”

During Mental Health Awareness Month, may we honor the courage it takes to speak, the compassion it takes to listen, and the bonds that remind us we do not have to heal alone. 🤗

Pedro closes his talk with a very special dedication:
“To my patients, who paid to teach me.” - D. Winnicott.

Every story shared with courage — and every bond built with care — can become part of healing.

🎨 Watching her mother volunteer at a Community School inspired Jocelyn to step into the classroom herself.

🌱 At first, leading a classroom and speaking confidently in front of groups felt intimidating. But through volunteering, she discovered new confidence and began using art and reading as tools to connect with students and support their well-being.

“I realized that by supporting others, I was also discovering my own strength.” 🍃

Jocelyn continues volunteering motivated by the belief that every child deserves someone who listens, supports, and encourages them to grow. Today, through art and mentorship, she helps create spaces where students feel safe to express themselves and ask for support when they need it.💛

“Maybe that small grain of sand I can contribute could become the big change in my community.”

At a local health center, Anderson discovered that one of the most powerful ways to support others was through language. By speaking both Spanish and Mam, he helped patients feel understood, comfortable, and cared for.

What started as a service-learning experience through *Jóvenes Líderes de Impacto* became something bigger: a new sense of purpose, leadership, and connection to his community.

Through the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, young people like Anderson are creating change where it matters most — at home. 💛

The world is full of people who think differently, and sometimes disagreements can take over our relationships. But what if acceptance doesn’t mean agreement?

In this new episode, psychologist Stephanie Smith explores the concept of radical acceptance and how learning to respect different perspectives can help us build healthier conversations and stronger relationships.

🩺 Caring for others is at the heart of nursing.

Every day, nurses and health workers show up in high-pressure environments with empathy, resilience, and care — supporting people through some of their most difficult moments.

Through SanaMente, health workers are strengthening the skills that support not only their patients, but also their own well-being — from managing stress to building more empathetic and human-centered care.

Because when those who care for others are supported, the quality of care transforms. 💛

🌎 No one solves today’s challenges alone.

At the Skoll World Forum 2026, thousands of changemakers came together to rethink how we strengthen communities and systems in a rapidly changing world.

For the third year in a row, our Co-Founder and President, , joined , president of on stage, contributing to global conversations alongside voices like , founder of , and Afeyan, co-founder and Chair of the Board of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, who challenged how we think about impact and responsibility. Voices like that of Guatemalan Indigenous activist and storyteller Lucía Ixchiu Hernández highlighted the importance of stories, memory, and connection to the land as part of today’s solutions.

Across the forum, one idea was clear: partnership is what makes change possible.

💛 Grateful to for bringing together those committed to collective impact.

“I dream of becoming an architect. I hope my school can be a place where we all learn and grow together.”

Matías is a student at one of our Community Schools in Costa Rica, where schools continue to play an important role in creating opportunities, connection, and safe spaces for young people.

Through programs that support learning, mentorship, and student well-being, schools like his help students imagine new possibilities for their future — and the future of their communities. 💛
