The Prevention Resource Center (PRC) is a partnership between the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Service, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and The Children’s Aid Society. The Resource Center is committed to decreasing the negative effects of alcohol, to***co, illicit drugs, gambling and violence at the community level. The PRC serves as an informa

The NYC Prevention Resource Center seeks to:
Build/Strengthen community based coalitions within the five boroughs focused on addressing issues related to the abuse of alcohol, to***co, illicit drugs, problem gambling, and violence

Expand the understanding of local communities about evidence based practices such as environmental strategies and Strategic Prevention Framework through the delivery of related workshops and presentations

Provide easy access to archival and current information related to identifying the negative impact of alcohol, to***co, illicit drugs, problem gambling, and violence; and the efforts to reduce and prevent these consequences at the national, state, city, and community level

Community Coalitions
