After much consideration, we have decided to CLOSE REGISTRATION for the SoulDeevas Stomp & Shake Majorette Team until September 2028. Hear us out ….
Managing and coaching a team takes a great deal of time, resources and effort. In years past, we would enroll throughout the season but it became chaotic trying to integrate new girls, get them caught up on routines and collect money to get uniforms and accessories ordered. It becomes disruptive for everyone.
The SoulDeevas’ calendar is filling up quickly with the ladies performing or competing almost every Saturday after the holidays. With a brand new team, we need time to teach and train the ladies we have and help them build solid relationships among themselves and with their coaches. We want to give ourselves two full seasons to make that happen. The goal is to become one of the strongest teams in the region. We can’t do that if we keep adding links to the chain.
So we are closing the door on the SoulDeevas so that they can get to work and we can focus on developing and strengthening our other programs like the sorority, the 1City Fellows, basketball and the drumline - all part of our University Experience.
It was a tough decision but a necessary one.
Stay tuned to see the progress of the Deevas as their season gets underway. We’re looking forward to more shenanigans as they continue to break out of their shells! Best of luck to all of our neighbor teams as they begin their seasons too! See y’all soon!
