Nobody gets there alone.

The Trump administration wants to redefine "self-sufficiency" as the ability to meet basic needs without any public or private assistance — without any assistance at all.

That's the standard now being used to justify cutting support for thousands of formerly homeless New Yorkers who finally have a home.
