This weekend, members of the OnPoint NYC team joined thousands of New Yorkers at the Puerto Rican Day Parade to celebrate Puerto Rican culture, history, and community.

We were proud to honor the generations of activists, organizers, and leaders whose work helped shape harm reduction and community health in New York City. That legacy continues to inspire our work today and lives on through leaders like our Executive Director, Sam Rivera, whose advocacy helped expand access to life-saving care for New Yorkers.

As New York City celebrates Puerto Rico and its rich history, culture, and the pride of Puerto Rican communities, we honor the generations of activists, organizers, and community leaders who helped shape the harm reduction movement. From the Young Lords' groundbreaking health activism in East Harlem and the South Bronx to today's life-saving services, their commitment to dignity, health, and self-determination continues to guide our work.

We are seeking a Respite Care Specialist to provide compassionate, person-centered support to our participants and community in our new respite program. This role is responsible for offering access to rest, hygiene, clothing, and renewal services to participants, while supporting participant intake, safety monitoring, hygiene protocols, documentation, de-escalation, and crisis response to help create a welcoming and safe environment.
