OnPoint NYC

OnPoint NYC OnPoint NYC is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of marginalized people who use drugs or engage in s*x work.

Our work addresses the intersection of stigma, policies, and practices that harm our participants and adversely impact the communities where we operate. OnPoint NYC is a leader in innovative and award-winning harm reduction and drug user health focused programs and services. In November 2021, we made history with the opening of the first two Overdose Prevention Centers in the United States, and ag

ain in March 2022 when the organization became the largest harm reduction service provider in the country. We are proud to be a trusted partner and collaborator of elected officials, community stakeholders and government bodies, both locally and across the US, in the fight to redress the harms of the war on drugs and in ending the overdose epidemic.

Our East Harlem Wellness Hub hosts a rooftop beekeeping program, creating opportunities for staff to slow down, and reconnect in community with one another. Beyond the rooftop, the bees help pollinate local parks, gardens, trees, flowers, and neighborhood green spaces, supporting healthier urban ecosystems. Like our Outreach and Public Safety Team, they’re doing their part to help communities thrive. This , we’re celebrating the small things that help bring people together and strengthen our communities. Read more. https://bit.ly/4dEgwAH

Hepatitis is a "hidden epidemic," as many do not know they have it. Early detection and treatment is critical to avoiding potentially-fatal liver damage. This & , we encourage our community to get tested. Learn more about our walk-in testing and treatment services.

For our participants, our garden “is like an escape from all the negative things they see in this world, even if it's only for a few minutes,” shares Juan Cortez, our Associate Director of Holistic Services. As we transition into summer, our community is excited to have this restorative space to enjoy the weather and the company of each other.

OnPoint NYC’s garden, which is located in the backyard of our East Harlem center, provides staff and participants with an open space to rest, recharge, and connect with nature and one another. Learn more about this sanctuary for our community members.
