By forging partnerships with preeminent universities and like-minded public service organizations, we seek to pool the outstanding academic resources already available in this nat

ion and help direct them to where they are needed most. The AT Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 public charity. We rely upon public support and in-kind contributions from institutions of higher learning. In addition, we benefit from the resources of Advantage Testing, a private tutorial service dedicated to academic rigor, long-term educational development, and the proposition that tests are powerful vehicles for learning.

Four consecutive deans of Harvard Law School have served on the Advantage Testing Foundation’s Board of Trustees: Elena Kagan, Martha Minow, John Manning, and—as of this month—John C.P. Goldberg.

That succession is a measure of something specific: in 2009, Harvard Law School became a founding partner of TRIALS—hosting, teaching, and standing behind the scholars who come through it. Every summer, twenty students arrive at Harvard Law School or NYU School of Law on full scholarship to prepare for law school admission. More than 90 have been admitted to Harvard Law.

We are grateful to Dean Goldberg for joining us, and to the three deans who preceded him.

What an incredible six weeks!

This summer, TRIALS 2026 brought together an amazing group of scholars from different backgrounds, experiences, and communities for six weeks of intensive training at Harvard Law School.

Beyond the classroom, our scholars explored the campus, learned from inspiring speakers and special guests, built meaningful connections, and grew alongside one another throughout the summer.

To our TRIALS 2026 Scholars: we hope you enjoyed this experience, challenged yourselves, supported one another, and created memories and friendships that will continue well beyond the program. We are so excited to see what you accomplish next, and we hope you keep cheering each other on at every stage of your journeys.

Some people leave a mark on TRIALS long after the summer ends, and Lady is one of them.

After joining TRIALS as a scholar in 2023, she returned as a teaching assistant in 2024 and 2025, mentoring new scholars, reviewing applications, filming scholar stories, and bringing endless positivity (and yes, that smile) to our community.

This summer, she’s pursuing new opportunities, and while we miss having her with us, her words are a reminder of what makes TRIALS so special: the summer program may last five weeks, but the community and support last far longer.

Thank you, Lady, for everything you’ve given to TRIALS. We’re cheering you on, just as you’ve always cheered on everyone else. ❤️

The nation’s most rigorous and selective full-scholarship pre-law pipeline, TRIALS prepares students of underrepresented perspectives and modest means for admission to leading law schools. A unique partnership among the Advantage Testing Foundation, Harvard Law School, and NYU School of Law, TRIALS brings together top-tier instruction and mentorship.

The program begins with a rigorous five-week residential summer course at Harvard Law School or NYU School of Law (alternating each summer) that:

From TRIALS 2018 to Harvard Law School, Tyler sharpened the teaching instincts he’d already started to develop. As part of the law school’s Board of Student Advisers and a writing tutor, he learned that teaching includes knowing when to push and when to pause and ask what’s really going on.

That balance is something he refined at TRIALS and still uses every day. 💫
