On October 25, 2026, the UNWLA Philadelphia Regional Council organized a charity gala to celebrate UNWLA’s Centennial and raise funds to benefit Ukrainian children.

“Our Centennial Celebration was such an emotional and meaningful moment — a chance to look back at everything Ukrainian women have accomplished together over the past 100 years and reflect on the power of a community that stays united, preserves its culture, and never loses its connection to Ukraine.

As we celebrated this incredible legacy, we also looked ahead to the next 100 years, thinking about what we can achieve together and the responsibility we have to pass our heritage, values, and traditions on to our children and future generations.

Today on All Saints’s Day, children prayed for Ukrainian children at the Washington National Cathedral. The majestic interior filled with the sound of Ukrainian and American hymns during Evensong. Young Ukrainians read excerpts from the Gospel.
🙏Ukrainian Embassy of Ukraine in the USA / Посольство України в США Charge de Affaires Denys Sienik and former Ambassador Oksana Markarova spoke powerfully about the urgent need to stop the violence unleashed by russia on Ukraine’s most vulnerable victims - the children injured, killed, abducted.
🙏UNWLA national president Natalie Pawlenko opened her remarks by saying “A child should never have to pray for another child’s freedom. Yet that is why we are here.”

Joined by UNWLA national advocacy chair Christina Tershakovec, and members of UNWLA Branch 78 DC , the event was co-hosted by Embassy of Ukraine in the USA / Посольство України в США, Ukraine House @ UNWLA - Ukrainian National Women's League of America, Inc.

🙏Grateful to the Washington National Cathedral for helping us draw attention to this heartbreaking injustice and the urgent need to bring Ukraine’s abducted children home.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, UNWLA Branch 95, (Kerhonkson/Poughkeepsie NY) celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a festive reception honoring three and a half decades of volunteerism, humanitarian service, and dedication to the Ukrainian community. 🇺🇦

💙💛 During the event, approximately $4,500 was raised in support of UNWLA’s “Hope for Ukraine’s Children” fundraising campaign. This meaningful contribution reflects the compassion and generosity that have guided Branch 95 throughout its 35 years of service.

Attending the celebration were Oksana Lodziuk Krywulych, UNWLA First Vice President, who presented Branch 95 members with a hramota in recognition and gratitude for their decades of volunteer service supporting UNWLA initiatives and the local community; Marianna Zajac, UNWLA Honorary President and member of Branch 95; and Vera Kushnir, Central NY Regional Council President.

Congratulations to UNWLA Branch 95 on their 35th anniversary! May the next chapter bring continued success and meaningful service.

📚🇺🇦 Just few days ago, the Ukrainian Book Club at welcomed Yaryna Chornohuz, a Shevchenko Prize-winning poet and active-duty sergeant in the Ukrainian Marine Corps.

Yaryna presented her new book, Nobody's Saffron, and shared powerful readings from her poetry collection [dasein: defence of presence], offering deeply personal reflections on war, womanhood, and the human experience.

The evening opened with inspiring remarks by Ambassador Oksana Markarova, Chairwoman of the Ukraine House Advisory Board, who highlighted the importance of bringing Ukrainian literature and voices to American audiences.

The discussion was moderated by Irena Chalupa , President of UNWLA Branch 78 in Washington, D.C.

The Ukrainian Book Club is co-organized by UNWLA, Razom for Ukraine , and Ukraine House, and dedicated to promoting contemporary Ukrainian literature in the United States.

🇺🇦 $42,000 Raised to Support Ukraine’s Women Defenders!

During Irma Vitovska’s U.S. tour of Kyivska Perepichka, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA), together with tour organizer MoLoKo Agency and the Victoria Vitae Charitable Foundation, raised $42,000 to provide winter gear for Ukraine’s women defenders, in partnership with the NGO Zemliachky.

This will provide approximately 160 sets of winter uniforms, helping keep Ukraine’s women defenders warm and protected throughout the cold season.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this fundraiser!

Це орієнтовно 160 комплектів зимової форми, які збережуть тепло та захистять наших захисниць у холодну пору року.

Before “Carol of the Bells,” there was “Shchedryk.” 🇺🇦

Ukraine’s a ca****la tradition has been carried in sacred and folk song for over a thousand years. This November, the Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum Chamber Girls’ Choir brings that tradition to New York.

These six-time Grand Prix winners have sung at the Vatican, the Berlin Philharmonie, and UNESCO. In 2017, they became the first choir to win three Grand Prix in Berlin, in the Youth, Sacred, and Folklore categories. Their voices need no instruments. This music survived centuries of attempts to silence it. Today, these girls carry it forward through war.

They’ll share the stage with the Westchester Children’s Chorus for a week of music, friendship, and cultural exchange.

Yesterday, UNWLA held an Emergency Advocacy Telethon, bringing together 42 members and supporters who made an estimated 126 calls to Congress, urging Representatives and Senators to stand with Ukraine and take action!

👏 Thank you to everyone who participated!
