The "Life Lines" Middle School Summer Camp has another fantastic show in the books!

The performers dazzled the audience with their skills in dance, acting, and singing during their retelling of Zathura 👨‍🚀☄🌌🔭

Many younger campers filled the seats and watched in awe at the creative display; the show definitely inspired the next generation of "Life Lines" participants!

Congratulations to everyone involved, including the incredibly talented visual arts participants who created the stunning backdrop!

The Celebrating Community benefit is our annual gathering that honors those who make our work possible.

This year, we are excited to honor Jess Dannhauser and Tim Sheehan, two remarkable members of the CFL community!

🌟 As the Commissioner of the Administration for Children's Services from 2022 to 2026, Jess Dannhauser worked tirelessly to ensure access to comprehensive counseling, resources and broader social support services to NYC families, including through CFL’s programs in Sunset Park. Jess continues his unwavering dedication to NYC’s children, youth, and families, and we are excited to celebrate him this fall!

🌟 Tim Sheehan, who has served as both a Board Director and currently as Chair, has been a steadfast advocate for the CFL mission. Seeing us through our transition to an independent nonprofit and subsequent growth, we are deeply grateful to Tim and so pleased to honor him this year as he prepares to hand over the reins of board chair.

We are thrilled to announce our inclusion in the New York Student Success Coach Learning Network's (NY-SSCLN) inaugural cohort! 🎓

CFL joins peer organizations also dedicated to increasing access to student success coaching across New York state. Student success coaches are young adults who serve as tutors, mentors, and role-models alongside teachers, focused on helping students thrive in the classroom.

Hear from our Executive Director Julia Jean-Francois:
"We at Center for Family Life in Sunset Park are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Student Success Coach Learning Network and join a collaborative network of other New York organizations committed to growing the next generation of mentors and role models. Camp has been a BLAST! We are so grateful we get to spend these weeks with our amazing campers. 😎

Continuing our NYCBenefits series, we hear from Max, a Family Counselor in our School-Based Support program. 👥

Max can communicate with clients in Arabic, which helps ensure that everyone from our diverse neighborhood is educated on the resources available to them.

NYCBenefits has a significant impact that is felt across all New York communities. We are proud to be apart of this work.

Our Family Counseling Program holistically assists families by providing direct support and access to resources that promote familial stability. The amazing staff, including Jackie, are able to work with families in English, Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin!

When families are welcomed into our Counseling Program, they complete integrated intake forms that screen them for over 30 public benefits. The counselors work closely with our Benefits Access team to address all needs. This cross-collaboration is made possible by NYCBenefits!
