Mercado Global Handwoven accessory nonprofit transforming the lives of rural communities across the Americas by fostering craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.

THE THREE PILLARS OF OUR PROGRAMS:
• Business Education Programs – We lead community-­‐based education programs to help women build and run successful
community businesses. Our curriculum covers business management, financial literacy, and women’s leadership.

• Market Access – We secure high-­‐volume sales orders with major U.S. companies, ensuring that artisans c

an earn a sustainable
wage for their craftsmanship.

• Asset Development – We provide access to micro-­‐credit to help artisans purchase foot looms, industrial sewing machines, and other tools that help them work more efficiently. In addition, we help them set up savings accounts so they can build their personal and business assets.

Our second Mercado Global Insight Trip of the year, and the first of two this July, was one to remember 🤍

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Tracy Sherman and Steve Friedman to Guatemala. Tracy joined us after winning this experience at last year’s ¡Fiesta! Gala auction in the Bay Area, and it was so special to finally share our partner artisan communities with her.

Throughout the trip, Tracy’s commitment to empowering women shone through as she took the time to thank each artisan group for sharing their craft, stories, and leadership.
