From 2 children to 30,000+ learners.

Digital Democracy started with a simple belief: every child should have the opportunity to understand and create with technology.

What began as one Code Club grew into schools, teacher training, coding and robotics, learning pathways, and a growing community of young people equipped to create, solve problems and shape the digital future.

The journey has shown us what is possible when we invest not only in learners, but in the teachers, schools and communities around them.

And this is only the beginning.

We’re building a generation of digital creators.

💻 What if every child had the skills to shape our digital future?

This August, we’re spotlighting Digital Democracy, the flagship programme of Keep A Child Alive South Africa.

Through coding, robotics, artificial intelligence and digital literacy, Digital Democracy is helping prepare children and young people to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

But this is about more than technology.

It’s about access. Opportunity. Creativity. Confidence. And ensuring that a child’s circumstances don’t determine whether they can participate in the future being built around them.

Throughout August, we’ll take you inside Digital Democracy and introduce you to the learners, educators and communities behind the program.

They should have the skills to shape it.

Every Mandela Day, people across South Africa dedicate 67 minutes to serving others—a tribute to the 67 years Nelson Mandela devoted to justice, equality, and human dignity.

At Uzima South Africa, those 67 minutes became so much more.

They became songs…
