🎥 Executive Director Ms. Diene Keita reaffirmed UNFPA’s commitment to putting people at the centre of our mission:

“Institutional structures are instruments, not ends in themselves. Our mandates — and the people we serve — are the purpose.”

A generation of have grown up displaced after fleeing their home nine years ago.

Since then, their lives have unfolded in the camps. Children have grown up. Babies have been born. Women have sought care and protection. Young people have learned, led and built new possibilities. Communities have found ways to support one another.

Alongside humanitarian partners, the government and frontline workers, they built systems to keep essential services going.

But nine years into the crisis, those systems are under growing pressure as funding falls short.

Until a safe return is possible, women, girls and young people need protection, healthcare and the opportunity to live with dignity.
