The reason I started this page was because of an experience I had this winter. The weather man declared that NYC would be below -0 degrees and to expect atleast 8 inches of snow. It just so happened that I was visiting someone in harlem who lived across the street from a church / food pantry. As I was leaving my friends house I saw a man sitting on the church steps, rocking back and forth in hope
to create enough friction for him to gain some warmth. I couldnt help to feel bad as I'm sit in my car sipping some hot coffee , all I kept thinking was .. Poor man , what is he going to do in the storm.. What can you do in a city where people walk past you because youre homeless so they wont give you food and you hardly get enough food stamps to last the month. I had to help this man somehow but my resources was low .. So I did what I would want anyone to do for me if I was in the position , I got him a large coffee, a sandwich , and two donuts ..I also threw him a few bucks for later. I gave it to him and even though his english wasnt perfect , he knew enough to say thank you .. My heart broke for this guy, even though I probably did the nicest thing I could, I felt like it wasnt enough.. A few days later that same man was on my mind and something just came to me.. What about sleeping bags for the homeless??? How can I help the people who have no place to go when its freezing or raining? Waterproof sleeping bags! This is why I created the page to help people like that man . So if you can help with any donations to make this possible people
