Hispanic children make up 41% of all children living in poverty. Too often, language is what stands between families and the early childhood support that could make a real difference.

Roughly a third of the families in our program identify as Latinx/Hispanic, and language access is a core part of how we show up for them, not an afterthought.

For so many of the families we partner with, Spanish is the language of bedtime stories and lullabies, of the words a child hears first and holds onto longest. One-third of families in our program identify as Latinx/Hispanic, and many participate in Spanish or bilingually — and when a child sees that language reflected in the books on their shelf, it becomes part of how they build confidence and a sense of belonging.

Spanish-language books are something families ask for and lean on all year long, and this month is a good moment to help make sure there are enough to go around.

This month, here's how you can join in:

🤝 Host a collection drive with your workplace, community, or friends to gather gently used books for ages 0-3

We’re building a new home. Now, we need your help to finish it.

Construction is underway on our new Roxbury Family Center in Boston. Soon, it will be a new home where families will find guidance, resources, and a community that’s here for them, no matter what.

But opening the doors takes more than construction.

We’re raising $100,000 in 100 days to help get this space ready for families by November 21. And with just 78 days to go, we need our community to help us get there.

He was a toddler in our program. Now he’s in college.

At last year’s Gala, we heard from Gabriel, a 2007 Room to Grow child graduate, who reflected on how the support his mom received all those years ago still shapes his path today as a college student exploring his future.

Meet the incredible people running the TCS New York City Marathon for Room to Grow!

This November 1, Team Room to Grow will take on 26.2 miles to help families access the guidance, resources, and community connections that support children during the first three years of life. đź’™

Back-to-school season can be a big transition for parents, too. New routines, new schedules, and new expectations can bring plenty of stress — for caregivers and kids alike.

For young children, so much of navigating change comes down to the support they have at home. So supporting children means supporting their caregivers, too.

With Room to Grow, 94% of parents in our program say it helps them reduce their stress.

The early years come with a lot of questions, changes, and new beginnings. Caregivers deserve support as they navigate them, too. 🌱
