More 3-K seats are coming! Today, announced that 1,000 more seats will be coming to all five boroughs this fall. This is how we build capacity and make the promise of universal 3-K a reality.

How does this affect you? If you’re in one of the 56 neighborhoods getting new seats, you’ll be notified soon, with the possibility to update applications until April 24.

Because of your relentless advocacy, we’ve won historic commitments from the Governor and Mayor for 2-K in NYC. But it’s up to us to make sure 2-K and universal child care are still the priority for our elected leaders.

To learn how we keep the pressure on to get 2-K over the finish line, join us in Central Brooklyn or Northern Manhattan on Saturday March 21st for advocacy workshops:

👉🏼Central Brooklyn - Building Power Through Storytelling, 3:00-5:00pm, Flatbush YMCA
👉🏼Northern Manhattan - Movement Building 101, 5:00-7:00pm, Our Saviour’s Atonement Lutheran Church

These are great opportunities to build your advocacy toolkit and connect with fellow parents + would-be parents.

Today, we turned Albany’s War Room into a Play Room - because every family in New York needs access to free universal child care.

’s plan is a real step forward. But it’s not close to universal. It has virtually nothing for kids three and under outside NYC, and it’s only funded for two years.

To get to universal, we need a sustainable, dedicated source of revenue to fund child care for ALL kids 0-5 - not a one-time fix.

Or as the kids put it: “if you want the rich to pay, shout hurray!”
