Stunning setting!

Our latest chapter meeting was held at the beautifully renovated Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Showroom Manhattan in the A&D Building.

NKBA Manhattan members were all smiles as we enjoyed light bites, festive drinks, and spirited conversation. We also explored the vignettes which instantly conveyed how sleek design and organized workspaces can beautifully unite form and function.

Our latest member spotlight is Ann W Cohen.

Growing up in Long Branch, New Jersey, she knew by the age of 11 that she wanted to become an interior designer. Much of that inspiration came from watching her grandfather, a contract painter who also built furniture for family members. His creativity left a lasting impression and sparked Ann's own passion for design.

Her first job after school was at Tressard, a custom wallpaper and fabric showroom in New York City's D&D Building.

A pivotal chapter came when she managed the kitchen showroom at Smolka in New York while continuing to run her own design projects.

Today, Ann leads her own interior design practice, Ann W. Cohen Interiors, specializing in residential interiors with a focus on kitchens and baths. She manages her projects from start to finish, allowing her to catch problems before they happen while saving her clients both time and money.

Tremendous thanks to Lutron Electronics and Hill Residential for hosting an unforgettable Members Only New York Design Coalition Summer Social at the stunning Lutron Global Experience Center.

Events like this are one of the many reasons to become involved with organizations like NKBA Manhattan NYC Chapter , American Society of Interior Designers - ASID, Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY), Interior Design Society, and IFDA NY.

Beyond the beautiful venues and fun celebrations, membership opens the door to meaningful connections, continuing education, professional growth, and a network of talented peers who inspire one another every day.

From the preppy ’80s theme and retro props to the music and entertainment to the great conversations and new connections, it was a wonderful way to gather.

All proceeds benefited Nazareth Housing, making the night even more meaningful.

Thank you again to Lutron and Hill Residential for your gracious hospitality. Looking forward to the next opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate with this amazing design community!
