This Sunday, come to KHS Edgehill to see the beautiful, Bronx 250th commemorative quilts along with three 1776 celebratory bicentennial quilts. Hours are Sunday, August 9th from 1:00-4:00 PM. Edgehill is located at 2570 Independence Ave in the Bronx.

KHS is excited about our relationship with Arts at the Edge watch for updates and event news!

Performing artists Katie Zaffrann and Esmé Boyce have taken to some of New York’s most prominent stages. After settling in Riverdale, however, they found few opportunities to create close to home. Now, they are inviting fellow creatives to help transform Spuyten Duyvil into a home for vibrant performances and community arts programming.

The two Riverdale moms are partnering with the Kingsbridge Historical Society to launch Arts at the Edge, a new performing arts organization in residency at Edgehill, 2570 Independence Ave. Once a functioning church, the nearly 140-year-old building has served as the historical society’s headquarters since 2022.

The collaboration grew from what the pair described as a gap they saw in the neighborhood’s arts scene. While many professional artists and performers call greater Riverdale home, they said, there are few local spaces for them to create or collaborate.

We are very pleased to announce that Van Cortlandt House Museum will now offer guided tours on select Saturdays! Tours will commence this Saturday, July 25th, at 12 PM.

These tours will provide visitors the opportunity to explore the Museum with a Museum Educator, and gain a deeper understanding of the people and histories connected to the oldest house in the Bronx.

Guided tours are offered on select Saturdays at 12 PM and last approximately one hour. Advance registration is strongly encouraged. Capacity is limited due to the historic size and layout of the house. Walk-in visitors may join the tour if space remains available. Please reserve a ticket for each member of your party, including children.

Van Cortlandt House Museum's programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Riverdale residents created community tapestries celebrating neighborhood landmarks, memories and personal stories, honoring America’s 250th anniversary while preserving the Bronx’s shared history for future generations through collaborative public art.
