Harlem River Community Rowing A non-profit membership-driven rowing club founded ten years ago.

We support the rebuilding of an active rowing community on the Harlem River, and are looking for a new home to serve our members and our community.

Our Sunday row, May 29th! Another gorgeous day, but amazingly enough we only saw ONE power boat the whole time we were out. Thanks to Bob for coxing, Francis for coaching, and Jessie for accompanying him in the launch and taking photos!

We have a new launch! One of the many things that held us back last year was that we didn't have a usable launch, to keep us safe on the water while we row. But this week, we had a very sturdy NEW boat delivered! The driver said he had a bad back and couldn't help carry it out to the dock, so the indefatigable Joy convinced some random guys hanging out there to help us! These guys are our heroes!

OMG! It's been far too long, but we're back on the water!

Our season started Saturday and continued today. We won't be rowing over Labor Day weekend (too many jet skis) but we'll be back the weekend after.

(If you're wondering what took so long, it's a saga, that includes many boat repairs, a stolen motor, multiple trips to the DMV, and lots, lots more. But being back on the water, in our shells, makes it all worth while.)

Throwback to 2016!

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been rowing since 2006. A lot has happened over the years. Friendship, community, teamwork… we’ve changed each other’s lives for the better.

What will the 2106 party be like? Epic, probably.

Rowing is fun! What else is there to say? Teamwork, concentration, movement, flow, swing, focus… rowers talk about rowing in all sorts of ways, but sometimes we forget to mention just how much fun it is.

Or maybe everyone already knows it’s fun and we don’t need to mention that part.
