Congratulations to Telly Duhon. đź‘Ź

At just 22 years old, Telly serves as Sous Chef at GW Fins Restaurant in New Orleans.

Following his time at Café Reconcile, Telly continued to receive guidance through the organization's Alumni Services program, which was launched with support from Emeril Lagasse Foundation. He later pursued his culinary education at NOCHI as an Emeril Lagasse Foundation scholarship recipient.

Telly's journey is a reminder of what's possible when young people have access to opportunity, guidance, and a strong support system.

From garden beds to teaching kitchens, students in Emeril's Culinary Garden & Teaching Kitchen have spent the school year growing, harvesting, and cooking with fresh ingredients. 🥕

Hands-on experience helps young people build a meaningful connection to where food comes from and the confidence and life skills to prepare healthy meals.

As the school year comes to a close, we’re celebrating every student who has gotten their hands dirty, tried something new, and brought something delicious to the table. We can’t wait to see how students use what they’ve learned at home this summer!

School Partner Spotlight: DC Bilingual Public Charter School 🌱

The school's 8,000-square-foot culinary garden and state-of-the-art teaching kitchen (Food Lab) serve more than 640 pre-K through 5th grade students every day — growing food, cooking it, and sharing it in two languages, with an entire community behind them. Families gather there too, for bilingual culinary workshops that keep the learning alive at home.

This spring grant cycle, Emeril Lagasse Foundation is furthering its investment in DC Bilingual by supporting the school’s Food & Wellness Program Coordinator role — helping sustain high-quality culinary and garden education as our program continues to grow.

An unforgettable evening at Belle Chasse Academy. đź’š

Last week, we joined forces with Robert Irvine Foundation for Dining for Inspiration — a one-night experience where incredible food, meaningful connections, and a shared belief in the power of food came together in support of students, military families, and communities.

Hosted on the campus of Belle Chasse Academy, an Emeril’s Culinary Garden & Teaching Kitchen school partner, the evening highlighted how food, nutrition, wellness, and community can create meaningful impact.

Thank you to everyone who made the night so special. The impact of this evening will continue far beyond the dinner table.
