Starting TODAY (8/1/26), two changes take effect for every custody case in the state:

⚖️ HB 1239/Act 605 — Equal shared custody is now the default (“shall,” not “should”)

⚖️ SB 76/Act 93 — The Bergeron standard is now written into law, making existing custody orders harder to modify

For Dads: treat your FIRST hearing as the one that counts. Get Informed of the law. Know your case. Strategize your court appearance.

If you are already have a custody case in court, contact your lawyer ASAP to understand what these changed mean for you.

We’re Back At Clover New Orleans with another Dad Discussion. This session’s topic is Business Partner Parenting. We’ll be sharing what it is, how it works, and ways to make it work for you.
