There’s something special about seeing a community come together.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make our recent Unity in the Community event such a meaningful day. From the food, music, and fellowship to the games, laughter, and conversations shared, the event was a beautiful reminder that community is about more than gathering together—it’s about making sure people know they are valued, supported, and that they belong.

A special thank you to the churches, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who came out and helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. Events like these reflect what RCS is all about: building supportive community, engaging people holistically, and empowering lasting change.

As we look back through these photos, we’re reminded that hope grows stronger when neighbors come together.

❤️ Thank you, New Bern, for helping make Unity in the Community such a wonderful celebration of connection, compassion, and belonging.

We were honored to welcome the women of Highland Park Christian Church to RCS yesterday for a tour and a chance to share more about the work being done right here in our community.

It’s always encouraging to open our doors and connect with people who have a heart for serving others. We enjoyed spending time together, answering questions, and showing how donations, volunteers, and community partnerships come together to make a difference for neighbors in need.

Thank you to the Highland Christian Women for taking the time to visit and learn more about the mission of RCS. We are grateful for your support and for the many churches and organizations that help us bring hope, food, and assistance to those who need it most. 💙

Together, we can continue making a meaningful impact in our community.

Every bag of groceries, every box of clothing, every hour spent volunteering, and every act of kindness makes a difference. 💙

At RCS, we’re incredibly grateful for the people in our community who choose to support our mission. Whether you’re donating food, giving gently used clothing, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing our story, you’re helping bring hope and practical support to neighbors who need it most.

It takes a community to care for a community, and we are thankful every day for the generosity, compassion, and servant hearts that make this work possible.

From all of us at RCS, thank you for being part of something bigger. Together, we’re making a difference right here at home. 🫶

Music can feed the soul — and together, we can help feed our neighbors. 💙🎶

RCS is grateful to partner with Craven Community Chorus for Let Music Be the Food of Love, where community members are invited to enjoy an inspiring concert and bring non-perishable food donations to support local families facing food insecurity.

Concert attendees are encouraged to bring items such as canned goods, cereal, jelly, pasta & sauce, peanut butter, ramen, rice, soup, and other pantry staples. #10 cans are also welcome for our Community Kitchen.

Every donation helps provide nourishment, hope, and support for neighbors right here in our community.

Sometimes the smallest acts of generosity can make the biggest difference. 💙

Did you know you can support neighbors in need right here in our community simply by rounding up your City of New Bern utility bill to the nearest dollar?

Through the City of New Bern’s Round Up Program, those extra cents are combined to help local residents facing hardships with utility assistance and other critical needs. Every penny adds up to hope for families in our area. ❤️

At RCS, we know firsthand how much community support matters. Programs like this remind us that when we all give a little, we can accomplish a lot together.

We’re still reminiscing on the memories, generosity, and community spirit that made last year’s RCS Gala so special. 💙

Each year, this event reminds us what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose: to support neighbors in need and strengthen the community we all call home.

Now, we’re excited and ready for this year’s gala — *Haunted Histories: Tales of the High Seas* — an evening filled with themed dinner, entertainment, auctions, interactive experiences, and meaningful impact.

📅 Saturday, October 17, 2026
⏰ 5:00 PM
📍 Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County

Sponsorships are available, and there are many ways to get involved — from purchasing tickets and donating auction items to volunteering and helping spread the word.

Let’s make this year another unforgettable night of purpose for RCS and the neighbors we serve.
