October 26, 2025: Mark Gerson's "God Was Right: How Modern Social Science Proves the Torah is True"

Date/Time: October 26, 2025 @ 2pm
Location: First Presbyterian Church; 400 New Street, New Bern, NC 28560
Presenter: Mark Gerson, author and entrepreneur
Program: God Was Right: How Modern Social Science Proves the Torah is True

Program Abstract:
For over three millennia, the question "Is the Torah true?" has resonated across cultures and disciplines. In his groundbreaking work God Was Right, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Biblical teacher Mark Gerson offers a fresh and timely answer. Gerson explores the Torah as a practical guidebook, revealing how its teachings address key questions that are also the focus of modern social science. By aligning these ancient principles with contemporary research, Gerson demonstrates that the Torah’s wisdom is not only true but is profoundly relevant to how we navigate today’s world.
This compelling talk delves into life’s most pressing questions—such as relationships, personal growth, parenting, time management, and happiness. Gerson's analysis of social dynamics like peer pressure, anti-fragility, diversity, and victimization provides a fascinating lens for personal transformation. Whether approached in full or by topic, God Was Right will inspire, enlighten, and offer practical wisdom for anyone seeking to live their best life.
Mark Gerson will go through select chapters of God Was Right -- with audience participation -- to discuss the Torah's perspectives and directives on topics of relevance to our age (dating, clothing, parenting, education, etc), as well as the social scientific validation of the Torah claims.
