We’re thrilled that The New Bedford Light is sharing the story of ARAW and some of our amazing friends. Over the past 160 years of “women heling women,” we’ve been honored to serve our community and make lasting friendships. We hope stories like this will help those in need find us.

🌟 Community Partner Spotlight! 🌟

We are thrilled to celebrate our first year of partnership with the SHARE (Society for Human Advancement through Rehabilitation Engineering) Foundation, and we want to take a moment to share a bit more about their mission.

Their inspiring mission is to empower people with severe disabilities to lead lives of greater independence and self-fulfillment. By adapting technology to each person’s unique needs and abilities, they enable individuals to perform everyday tasks, express themselves and build stronger connections with their families, caregivers and community.

Over their 45-year history, the SHARE Foundation has reached 4,000 children and adults in our community! We are especially grateful for the profound impact they continue to have on the lives of our ARAW friends.

A HUGE thank you to Cheryl, Vanessa, Leslie, Diane, Nina and Heide for the friendship and folding of 306 newsletters today! Many hands make light work and six wonderful volunteers make it fun! Thanks to these incredible women, September's newsletter is mailed out and will make an appearance in a mailbox near you VERY soon...

Our August Going with the Lunch featured our wonderful community partner, the Zeiterion! More than 50 people attended, and many couldn’t help but get up and dance to the incredible music of Candida Rose. It was a joyful afternoon filled with great music, fun and friends! 💃🎶💃
