We’re excited to be part of this year’s Spindle City Arts Trolley with our newest showcase, "The City Of…"

This exhibit brings together local artists across different mediums reflecting on the past, present, and future of Fall River’s identity through their own perspectives, experiences, and connections to the city.

Come spend the day exploring art spaces across Fall River, ride the trolley, and stop by the Hudner Building at Heritage State Park Building to see the show.

This exhibition invites artists to reflect on the evolving identity of Fall River through memory, observation, and future vision.

Requirements
📍 Southcoast MA or RI artists
🎨 All mediums welcome
📏 Max size: 16” × 20”

Submit images that show the work as it will be displayed. For example, framed pieces should include the frame, and dimensions should reflect the full finished size.

Artists from Fall River and New Bedford came together Monday at the beloved Star Store with a shared goal: to collaborate and grow this community.

We started by getting to know each other, then heard from .de.aguiar and , who gave short presentations on organizations like , , and . They broke down grant opportunities for projects big and small, and talked through how we can make New Bedford specific funding accessible to everyone in the room.

They also shared how community support has shown up in their own work, from the to These are real examples of what’s possible when people show up for each other!

After that, we brainstormed future projects together and ended the night with a guided tour of the Star Store, imagining how the space can be used for events, businesses, and projects of our own.

Even with just two meetings so far, there are already real connections forming and it’s exciting to think about what will come from them in the near future. This is what it’s all about!
