It is with deep gratitude that we thank all of the volunteers, award recipients, board members, community partners, sponsors, donors, members, friends, supporters, and staff who joined us at our annual meeting last night. The stunning Mattapoisett YMCA was the perfect backdrop for a celebratory evening rooted in community, impact, and belonging.
Congratulations once again to our impact award recipients:
Community Impact Award: Damien's Food Pantry
Community Champion Award: Representative Tony Cabral
Youth of the Year: Alexandra Monteiro
Volunteer of the Year: Judy Perreault
Special thanks to our sponsors BayCoast Bank, Innovative Benefit Advisors, and Cape Cod 5 for your continued support.
And to Russell Morin Catering & Events for the amazing dinner, dessert, and libations.
Moving remarks from all of our speakers and award recipients were the highlight to the evening.
Our Youth of the Year award recipient shared that she hopes by volunteering on our farm she can plant the same seeds of wisdom that guided her to the farm, with the next generation. The applause from the audience confirmed that she is not alone in that mission.
Dr. Sedgwick Harris, President of Bristol Community College shared stories of his early experiences at his hometown Y in Michigan, highlighting that his childhood would have been much different without that Y. The reason he is gifting swim lessons to his nephew this year to that very same Y.
Thank you again to all who joined us in celebrating, reflecting, and looking ahead at the bright future that lies ahead here at YMCA Southcoast 😎
