Turnip Green fosters creativity and sustainability through reuse. We provide a welcoming, inclusive space to divert materials from the landfill and connect them with people who need them such as teachers, students, artists, and more. Together, we keep materials out of the landfill and get them back to people who need in them in 4 ways:
1:Education
TGCR hosts recurring after school programs in man
y different MNPS schools. In these programs, students learn about the importance and enjoyment of reuse through creating take-home art projects, science experiments, school installations, and more.
2:Retail
TGCR’s artist marketplace showcases handcrafted arts and crafts from local reuse artists. The constantly evolving inventory of jewelry and other functional art created from reuse supplies make great gifts!
3:Two Green Galleries
TGCR’s 2 Green Galleries and Artist Marketplace feature hundreds of local reuse artists and a variety of unique artworks created from sustainable materials.
4:Open Studio
TGCR's retail space also features our open studio! The open studio is available to use for small groups or individuals during our open hours with an appointment. If you are interested in hosting a private art workshop, birthday party, or other event, contact our Community Engagement Coordinator.
