This October, help us add a little extra encouragement to the breast cancer survivors participating in the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) Program.

The Women’s Leadership Resource Network (WLRN) is collecting pink lipsticks, chapstick, and pink makeup items throughout the month to create goodie bags for ABC participants.

Donation boxes will be available at YMCA centers through October 24.

Your contribution can help us remind every ABC participant that they are supported, celebrated, and surrounded by a caring community.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins tomorrow, and this October, wear your support for breast cancer survivors across Middle Tennessee.

After Breast Cancer shirts are just $25 with free shipping, and every shirt sold directly supports the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) Program, a free 16-week program providing community, healing, and hope for breast cancer survivors.

We were honored and humbled to celebrate first responders and serve them breakfast at the Brentwood Family YMCA on September 11. We can never say thank you enough for the selfless work these individuals do on a daily basis to keep our communities safe.

G’mar Chatima Tova — Happy Yom Kippur! Today, the Jewish community observes Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism. Known as the Day of Atonement, it is marked by fasting, prayer, and reflection, culminating in a shared meal with loved ones. The YMCA of Middle Tennessee extends warm wishes for a peaceful, meaningful, and blessed Yom Kippur to all who celebrate.

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is proud to have members of all ages, and this week, we're celebrating one of our members with a bit more life experience than most!

Longtime Franklin Family YMCA member Charlie turned 100 this week and our staff celebrated him on his big day. Charlie continues to regularly visit the Y, where he stays active and engaged with his community. Charlie began going to the Y as a child, and while a lot has changed throughout the course of his life, the Y has remained a place of friendship, growth, memories, and belonging.

🎂 Happy Birthday, Charlie, and thank you for being part of our story!

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

The Y is celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of communities whose families came from Spanish-speaking countries or cultures. Rather than starting at the beginning of September, Hispanic Heritage Month takes place over 30 days starting on the 15th — a nod to the anniversaries of national independence for several Latin American countries including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico’s independence is celebrated September 16th, and Chile celebrates its independence September 18th.

This month is an opportunity to celebrate the rich contributions of our Hispanic community members in Middle Tennessee.

One resource we would like to highlight is the su***de and crisis lifeline - 988 - a vital resource for responding to the needs of those struggling with their mental health. Mark your calendars for 988 Day on September 8 (9/8) and help raise awareness.
