🐝🌼 It's World Pollinator Week!

From bees and butterflies to moths, beetles, birds, and bats, pollinators play a vital role in the health of our ecosystems. In fact, many of the fruits, vegetables, and flowering plants we enjoy every day depend on pollinators to thrive.

In the Garden, pollinators can be found hard at work among blooming flowers, helping plants reproduce while supporting biodiversity throughout the landscape.

This World Pollinator Week, take a moment to appreciate the tiny creatures that help keep our world blooming. πŸŒΈπŸ¦‹

🌴 You may know it as a houseplant, but have you seen one at full size?

Beaucarnea recurvata, commonly known as the ponytail palm, is a favorite for homes and offices thanks to its low-maintenance nature and distinctive tuft of cascading leaves. But when grown in the landscape, this plant can develop a large, swollen trunk and reach impressive heights. ✨

Native to Mexico, the ponytail palm stores water in its bulbous base, helping it thrive through dry conditions. The next time you're in the Garden, take a closer look; you may be surprised by how many familiar houseplants you can find growing in the landscape. 🌿
