✨️ TNR Fun Facts ✨️
In honor of , we want to share the importance of TNR:
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is one of the most effective and humane ways to reduce outdoor cat populations and prevent countless litters of homeless kittens from being born. By spaying and neutering community cats, we can help improve their quality of life while slowing the cycle of overpopulation in our neighborhoods. ❤️🐱
Each TNR cat receives 👇
✔️ Spay/Neuter Surgery
✔️ Rabies Vaccine
✔️ Feline Distemper Vaccine
✔️ Flea & Tick Treatment
✔️ Ear Tipping
✔️ Post-Op Pain Injection
🤔 Did you know? A SINGLE unspayed cat and her mate can produce thousands of kittens over just a few years?
The gestation period (pregnancy length) of a cat is only about 2 months, meaning they can have multiple litters per year. Female cats can also become pregnant as early as 4-5 months old, meaning kittens from a spring litter can begin contributing to the population before the year is up. Repeat that each year, and that single pair of cats will turn into hundreds by year 3.
📣 Today, the Humane Indiana Estelle Marcus Animal Clinic will complete nearly 100 TNR surgeries, preventing the birth of approximately 5000 homeless kittens over 5-6 years. This record-breaking day will have a lasting impact on the cat populations of our communities.
