At this evening’s Munster Lions Club meeting, members voted on and passed the 2027 budget, which will allow us to continue supporting organizations, clubs, programs, and students throughout Munster.

As many of you know, the Lions cancelled our annual Steak & Chicken Grill this year so we could put our full efforts and resources into helping those affected by the storm. That event is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and helps make so much of what we give back to the community possible.

To help make up for the cancelled fundraiser, we are planning an event for October 10th at the Munster Social Center.

More details will follow soon, but for now, please mark your calendars and plan on coming out to support your Munster Lions!

Today concluded the preparation and serving of more than 10,000 meals since the storm.

Thank you to all of the Munster Lions, other community organizations, local businesses, and residents who contributed through donations, time, and resources to help wherever we could during an incredibly difficult time.

As we remain dedicated to serving our community in the aftermath of last week’s storms, our normal Lions meeting scheduled for tonight has been cancelled so our members can continue focusing on those in need.

As always, we are proud to serve our community when it needs us most. 🦁

The Munster Lions continue to show up at the Social Center each day to support Munster and our neighbors in need.

We’ll be here serving dinner until 6pm today!

Throughout the day, we’ve also received numerous donations of food, time and financial support. We truly can’t thank everyone enough who has stepped up to help our community during this time.

A special thank you to the Halpern family of Albert’s Jewelers and Jason Gore for their incredibly generous donations.

We’ve also had an incredible group of volunteers stepping up throughout the day, including members of South Side Christian Church, Munster Police and the Munster VIPS.

Munster resident Florence Espiritu from Jefferson Avenue came out and cooked Filipino food for everyone, and Hyatt Place provided a variety of meals along with much-needed ice.

It continues to be amazing to see so many residents, businesses, organizations and volunteers simply asking, “What can we do to help?”

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for Munster and our neighbors.

Please keep your tickets as we plan a future event.

Please reach out to any Lion member for help with your situation during this trying time.

The Lions Social Center is open as a cooling center and housing for our residents in need.

Food at the Cooling Center

🍽️ Free Food at the Cooling Center — Today, August 13th
Food is being served daily from Noon–6pm (or until supplies run out) at the Munster Lions Club Social Center, Community Park. Water is available all day.

Here's who's serving this week:
• Today (Thursday): Westminster Church — also serving extra trays generously donated by the American Red Cross at lunch
• Friday: Operation BBQ Relief (www.obr.org)
• Saturday: Munster Lions Club

A huge thank-you to Pepsi for donating a pallet of water, picked up today by the Munster Fire Department from Sam's Club in Calumet City, and to every organization stepping up to feed our community this week.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Munster Lions booth at National Night Out!

The money raised through our fundraising efforts throughout the year is always put to good use right here in our community, and we appreciate everyone who continues to support us.

We look forward to serving you again this upcoming Saturday, August 15th, at our Steak & Chicken Grill from 3–7 PM!

This evening the Munster Lions gathered for our general membership meeting with a focus on the upcoming 41st Annual Steak & Chicken Grill.

Join us Saturday, August 15, from 3:00–7:00 PM at the Lions Club Social Center (8751 Lions Club Drive, Munster). Tickets are just $20 for adults and $7 for children under 12. It’s a great meal while supporting the Munster Lions’ mission of serving our community since 1938.

Members enjoyed each other’s company over pizza from Rico’s and chicken from Strack & Van Til as we finalized plans for another great event.

The Munster Lions meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month, and we’d love to have you join us. If you’re looking for a way to give back to the community while building lasting friendships, come check us out.
