Happy Monday!

There's something special about the start of a new week: a chance to begin again, try something new, and look ahead.

With that spirit in mind, we're excited to share Gateway House's new logo. This refreshed design represents the work happening every day within our walls: providing shelter, support, and hope to individuals and families as they work toward a fresh start of their own.

****Your donations at work!****

Today, a 62-year-old woman signed her lease and received the keys to her new home. With support from donations from community members and organizations like the Morehead Women’s Club, we were able to provide the essentials she needed to get started in her new space, including a mattress and other household items.

This is what donated items make possible. We rely on community support to help individuals move into housing with the basics they need from day one.

Thank you to everyone who supports the work of Gateway House and helps make these transitions possible.

When you work with people in crisis, being prepared can make all the difference. This week, Gateway House staff completed training in Basic Life Support, including CPR and AED certification. ❤️ We’re grateful for staff who continue to learn, grow, and show up for our community every single day.

Today on Memorial Day, Gateway House honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Here in our Gateway community, we know the value of service, sacrifice, and neighbors helping neighbors. As we reflect today, we remember those who gave everything so we could enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we have each day. ❤️🤍💙

From all of us here at Gateway House, thank you to our veterans, active service members, and military families. May we never forget those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

One of our residents, a single mother who came to us after losing her home in a fire, wrote this message in chalk before moving out with her little family today.

“Love you guys. We will miss you.”

Before she arrived here, her family was facing uncertainty and loss. Today, they’re leaving with a new place to call home and a fresh chapter ahead of them. This is why support systems matter. A safe place, encouragement, resources, and people who care can make all the difference during some of life’s hardest seasons.

We are so proud of how far this family has come, and we’re honored to have been part of their journey toward stability and a fresh start. Please join us in wishing them all the best in this next chapter. ❤️

We’re so proud to celebrate Artemus as he walks across the stage Saturday as an MSU Eagle and earns his degree in Social Work! 🎓🦅

Artemus joined Gateway House last year as a practicum student and continued serving our clients this year through AmeriCorps.

His compassion and dedication have made a lasting impact, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next. Congratulations, Artemus!!!

🎉 Happy Birthday to Christa Stidam Webb, one of our amazing Housing Managers here at Gateway House! 🎉

Christa cares deeply for the people she works with and is always in their corner, encouraging them and cheering them on every step of the way. Recently, one of Christa’s resident families completed the program and are now thriving on their own. Success stories like that are what Gateway House is all about, and Christa plays a big part in making them happen.

We’re so thankful for the heart, dedication, and compassion Christa brings to our team each day.
