We’re Hiring! Join the CASA Gateway Region Team

CASA of the Gateway Region is growing, and we are looking for a passionate, dedicated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator serving Powell, Wolfe, and Breathitt Counties!

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring children who have experienced abuse and neglect have a trained advocate by their side. This position helps recruit, train, support, and empower CASA volunteers who speak up for the best interests of children in the foster care system.

Responsibilities include:

Recruiting, screening, and training new CASA volunteers
Supporting and supervising assigned CASA volunteers
Building relationships with volunteers, families, and community partners
Ensuring volunteers have the resources and guidance needed to advocate effectively for children
Promoting CASA’s mission and increasing awareness throughout the community

Foster care is ground zero for many of the challenges we see in our communities.

Behind the numbers on homelessness, substance abuse, poverty, incarceration, mental health struggles, and cycles of abuse and neglect, there are often children who experienced trauma before they ever had a voice in their own story.

But a child’s beginning does not have to determine their ending.

That is where CASA comes in.

A CASA volunteer is a trained advocate who steps into the life of a child in foster care and says, “You matter. Your story matters. You are not forgotten.”

They are the consistent adult who listens, learns, asks the hard questions, and makes sure the child’s needs, wishes, and best interests are not lost in the system.

CASA Gateway would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Rowan County Fiscal Court for their support through Opioid Abatement Funding!

This funding will allow our program to better support children who are victims of parental substance abuse and ensure that our CASA Volunteers and Staff receive critical training on how to effectively advocate for children experiencing trauma related to substance abuse in the home.

Every child deserves a safe, stable, and supportive environment, and this investment will help us continue to be a voice for vulnerable children across our region. Thank you to the Rowan County Fiscal Court for recognizing the importance of protecting and advocating for children impacted by the opioid crisis.
