Haldeman HC Community Center Haldeman Community Center The Haldeman Hayes Crossing Community Center is located on the historic site of the Haldeman High School in Rowan County, KY.

Burned to the ground by a fire of undetermined cause in late 2007, the building and property was purchased by a concerned group of Haldeman and Hayes Crossing community residents. The Haldeman Hayes Crossing Community Foundation has set about to restore the historic building, originally built by the WPA in 1937, which played a vital role in educating so many in the community. y Center is used for community functions and for an emergency shelter. The full-size gym, still in fair condition, is available for use in the event of an emergency, like the ice storm a few years ago that left many without shelter for weeks. For rental information, contact Susan at 606.780.4043

A while back the road department was good enough to bring us some fill so we could start leveling out the area inside the old school walls. Unfortunately they couldn't get into the area with their trucks. So they had to deposit the fill outside of where it needs to be.

That brings us to me (John) asking our neighbors for some assistance. If you have a loader or backhoe and could help us get this moved to where it needs to be, it would be greatly appreciated. If you move one scoop or the whole thing it would be a step in the right direction.
