Congratulations, Kelly!! 🎉We're proud of the great work you're doing!

Congratulations Kelly from Senior Medicare Patrol Morehead for winning December 2025's Fraud Prevention's Finest Award! We are so lucky to have four FPF winners on our Kentucky SMP team.

Kelly was nominated for her dedication to the program and her creative approach to educating seniors about Medicare fraud! She uses her past experience as a group fitness instructor, health educator, and dancer to integrate physical activity and fun into her presentations. Some of these SMP creations include writing SMP lyrics for well-known songs and singing them with seniors at educational events, creating SMP finger touch exercises, making an SMP line dance, and even hosting an SMP water aerobics class at a local gym. We're so lucky to have her on our team!

SMP Kelly Waite provided the University of Kentucky's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Morehead their first SMP presentation last week! They learned about the SMP program and Medicare fraud prevention, complete with SMP line dance and song, and then learned about elder abuse and romance scams. Participants enjoyed their enlightening experience.

Last week, SMP Kelly Waite gave a presentation on Medicare's Open Enrollment at the Olive Hill Senior Center. She met her oldest SMP participant yet, Othelle Lykins, who will turn 100 in December! 🎉 A retired school teacher, Othelle is still sharp as a tack! She doesn't answer unknown numbers or give out her personal information. ✅️ Keep fighting fraud, Othelle!

SMP Kelly Waite is shaking things up in Montgomery County. She both educated and entertained the seniors at the Montgomery County Senior Center last month as she taught about fraud prevention and sang SMP song lyrics she wrote.

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve in your community? Do you enjoy working with older adults? Do you have any interest in traveling and helping with or giving presentations, prepping bags for presentations, distributing information, assisting with social media, or providing administrative support? If you answered yes to any of these, we have a place for you with the Senior Medicare Patrol!
We are currently looking for dedicated volunteers who can give as little as one hour a month to help us reach one of our most vulnerable populations. There's no age restriction to volunteer, and you can serve as much or as little as you want.

We had a ball at Morehead State University yesterday, discussing Medicare and fraud, and then jumping in the pool for water aerobics!

Both MSU SMP'S Kelly Waite and Jonathan Shepherd put on this community event with assistant Sydney Renolds. Everybody had a great time!

MSU RSVP and Senior Medicare Patrol Morehead State University had a joint event yesterday at Morehead State University. Seniors learned about the 4 RRRR's of preventing Medicare fraud at the beach/pirate themed event.

OLLI is the University of Kentucky's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for older adults. This presentation will feature information on Medicare Fraud, Romance Scams, and Elder Abuse.

We're looking for volunteers here at our Morehead State location! We serve fifteen counties in North-eastern Kentucky, and we need your help to spread the word about fraud and scams affecting senior adults!
You can help by visiting your local senior center, library, nursing home, church group, etc. and talking to them about Medicare fraud and consumer scams. We provide you all the information and training you need! Become a local hero fighting fraud! Message us on here on our page, or call our MSU office at 606-783-2085 and speak with our SMP, Kelly Waite. She would love to work with you!

The Senior Medicare Patrol program provides consumer scam and healthcare fraud prevention education to seniors and their loved ones all around Kentucky. Medicare fraud and consumer scams affect us all. Training and resources are provided to those who volunteer.
