No, Kentucky is not about to quietly declare trans people "mentally ill." And no, trans teachers are not about to get silently kicked out of the classroom.

We know, because we're actually here. We've been covering the 2026 legislative session all year, we have sources on the ground, and we know how this process works.

National outlets got this one wrong. We broke down exactly what's happening with HB 759 and why -- and yes, we're still watching, because Frankfort can be sneaky.

Among other things this bill would give more power and less oversight to the EPIC committee and take away power from the Public Service Commission and community advocates working towards energy affordability and renewables in KY.”

Last week the legislature tried to make it impossible for community advocates (like us) to intervene in utility cases at the Public Service Commission. Thanks to every single one of you who took the time to call and email SECTION 2 of SB 8 has been removed!

Now, we need to turn our attention to SB 100, which is a power grab for the recently created EPIC commission aimed to limit the PSC from making "least cost" decisions for our energy future and giving fossil fuels an unfair advantage over more affordable and safer choices.

Among other things, SB 100 removes important oversight and makes EPIC exempt from the Kentucky Opens Records Act!

Join us Saturday March 14th for a free store event and our Radical Imaginations training. This event is in partnership with More Love and MSU Evergreen at A Gathering Place . Thank you to everyone who contributed to this family during the holidays. We know how much most folks are struggling right now and that makes every dollar we raise for them so much more meaningful. Decembers rent it falling short and there’s not a lot of time to get it in before the eviction process will start.
