It's Mental Health Awareness Week. Let's start with some self-compassion! Check out the tips below ⬇️ and be gentle with yourself today.😌

When our close friends or siblings have a bad day, we’re often quick to send them an encouraging text or even make plans to see them IRL. It’s easy to be gracious and compassionate towards others, but we sometimes fall short when it comes to ourselves.

Here are 3️⃣ simple ways we can all practice :

1️⃣ Celebrate your victories. Be proud when you’re doing your best, even if that just means going to work and making it to the end of the day. Treat yourself to some self-care and celebrate!

2️⃣ Don’t say “maybe” when you want to say “no.” Every time you compromise your own happiness and mental health for the sake of someone else, you’re telling yourself that you value others’ well-being above your own. Don’t do it!

3️⃣ Don’t apologize for your feelings. Your feelings are yours, and they’re valid. No one has the right to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be feeling—not even yourself.

Governor Beshear ordered flags on Capitol grounds to be flown at half-staff in observance of Overdose Awareness Day. Today, we remember those we've lost too soon and hold their families and loved ones close to our hearts.

Gov. Andy Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, Aug. 31, in observance of Overdose Awareness Day in Kentucky.

Loss and grief are painful human experiences but valid and universal nonetheless. Today is National Grief Awareness Day and a chance to embrace grief and give yourself space to feel and heal. Let's remember the ones we've lost and honor their memory by honoring our grief.

“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.” ― Anne Lamott
