Morehead Gateway Helping Hands, Inc.' Mission Statement.
Our mission is to partner with our community and engage them in our never-ending fight against poverty, hunger and total homelessness. Our goal is to prepare at least 1 family member in each of the households we serve for a better life through a higher education and on the job placement within the community. A community is judged by the way they take care of their needy. We can't stop poverty and hunger, but we can make a difference one family at a time.

Welcome to Morehead-Gateway Helping Hands, Inc.

Helping Hands operates a local food pantry a soup kitchen and a thrift store and outreach center which is open to the community for shopping and receiving essential items. Our main income comes from donations in the community, sparsely written grants and proceeds from sales in our brick-and-mortar thrift store.

Gateway Helping Hands' Thrift Store is located in building # 204 in the Morehead Plaza. Our Helping Hands Food Pantry is in building # 206 which is connected to the thrift store with an access door between the two entities. A Place at the Table Soup Kitchen is located at 130 south Hargis Avenue which is just outside our food pantry's back door!

We provide compassionate care to all who enter our doors.

We opened our doors in November 2009 to meet the food needs of Rowan County residents. We look forward to partnering with you and taking care of all your food and outreach needs.
