🎺 Meet Thomas!
Thomas is one of the newest members of our low brass section, joining MCB for his first season! He’s been playing for 15 years and can cover quite the lineup: euphonium, tuba, bass trombone, and tenor trombone. 🎶
His favorite piece he’s played with MCB so far is Eric Whitacre’s October, and when it comes to the music he listens to? “Everything—and I really do mean everything.” 😂
🤿 Fun fact: Thomas is also a scuba diver!
And if he could instantly master another instrument? Piano. 🎹
We’re happy to have Thomas joining the MCB family this season! 💙

🎺 Meet Jim!
Jim has been playing tuba for 45 years and has been with MCB for 22 years—almost as long as the band has been around! 💙 His favorite part? The music and fellowship with friends. 🎶
🌳 Fun fact: He once climbed a tree with a chimp in Africa! 🐒
And the instrument he’d love to master next? Drums! 🥁
We’re so glad Jim is part of our MCB family!

🎺 Meet Jerry!

Jerry has been playing the tuba for an incredible 69 years and has been part of the Monroe Community Band for 15 years! 💙 His favorite thing about MCB? The friends he’s made along the way. 🎶

🪖 Fun fact: Jerry once tried out for the Army Band… but ended up in the infantry instead!

And after 69 years, what instrument would he like to master next?

“Still working on the tuba.” 😂🎺

We’re so glad Jerry is part of our MCB family!

🎺 Meet the Low Brass Section! 🎺

They bring the power, the depth, and (let’s be real) some of the best sounds in the band. 😎

Meet the low brass musicians of the Monroe Community Band! From trombones to euphoniums and tubas, these musicians help build the foundation of our sound and bring plenty of personality along with it.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to some of the individual musicians who make up our band—so stay tuned! 🎶

Let’s hear it for our tuba players! 🎺✨

Providing the strong foundation of the band, the tuba brings depth, power, and balance to every piece. It’s the sound that supports everything else — and it’s incredible to hear live. 🎶
