In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.

Just like us, animals process music emotionally. Volunteers Shelby and Beth recently took a harmonica tour around the sanctuary, providing our residents with some wonderful auditory enrichment.

Some residents came to investigate the harmonica, while others visibly relaxed. Watching them pause what they were doing to listen is just one way we can see how individually complex, curious, and expressive animals of all species truly are. 💚

Mako, our sweet little Shiba Inu mix, is one of the last of his rescue group looking for a forever home. 3-year-old Mako is just a little guy, coming in at 28 lbs. At Pasado's, he's been learning about the world beyond the four walls he came from and is doing an amazing job.
