Team Up Mentoring

Team Up Mentoring Team Up Mentoring's mission is to foster generational change for families affected by trauma.

We do this by providing holistic case management and mentoring to help children and families overcome the generational obstacles that often walk hand-in-hand with trauma. We believe in long-term relationships, trauma-informed care and a holistic approach to serving the whole child, so we make up to an 18 year investment in each child, providing education, physical and mental health, empowerment an

d mentoring services that they need. We are absolutely committed to doing whatever it takes to help young people succeed. We hope that you will join us in our mission by volunteering as a mentor or becoming a donor today.

So what do we mean when we say “The Team Up Way?”

It’s a slogan we created to encompass how we’re making lasting impacts here in the Monroe, Ga area.

By focusing on building healthy relationships, providing a safe environment and instilling healthy skills in the lives of kids and families week after week, we’re seeing teens enter adulthood with a lifelong resilience that is invaluable.

The impact may start here, but our hope is that it follows them for the rest of their lives. That’s The Team Up Way.

✨ We’re looking for Magic Makers! ✨

This year’s Magic Makers Gala is an extra special one as we celebrate 20 YEARS of Team Up—twenty years of showing up for kids and families in Walton County, building relationships, and creating a place where they know they belong.

And we’d love for your business or organization to be part of what comes next.

We’re currently looking for sponsors to help make this year’s gala possible. Sponsorship opportunities include event tickets, recognition on social media, your logo featured on our website and promotional materials, and more depending on your sponsorship level.

But more importantly, your sponsorship directly supports the work happening at Team Up all year long.

The next twenty years start here—and we’d love to have you be part of them. ✨

Back-to-school season comes with a lot of change. New teachers, new routines, new expectations, new friendships—and sometimes a whole lot of feelings to go with it.

Here are 3 simple ways you can support your child through the transition:

✨ Make room for mixed emotions. They can be excited AND nervous at the same time.

✨ Create predictable routines. When so much feels new, knowing what comes next can help kids feel more secure.

✨ Connect before you question. Give them a little time to decompress after school before asking all the questions about their day.

And remember: it may take some time to find your rhythm again. You don't have to get everything right on day one.

Save this one for those first few weeks of school!

Did you know? Consistency is one of the simplest ways we can help a child feel safe and supported.

For kids and families who have experienced a lot of unpredictability, knowing they can count on someone matters.

A few examples of being consistent are:
⭐️Showing up when you say you will.
⭐️Following through on a promise.
⭐️Being there again next week.

Those actions may feel small, but over time, they say something really important:

“You can count on me.”

At Team Up, consistency is one of our core values because we know trust isn't built in one big moment. It's built through the little things we choose to do again and again.

Your Tuesday night could look like this!

(Or your Thursday night💙)

Mentor nights are starting back soon, and we’re looking for caring adults in our community who are willing to show up, have fun, and build real relationships with our kids and teens.

And becoming a mentor doesn’t mean giving up every Tuesday and Thursday night. We ask our mentors to commit to at least 4 mentor nights a month—on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.

Four nights to play a game, share a meal, have a conversation, cheer a kid on, and simply be a consistent person in their corner.

Apply to become a mentor at teamupmentoring.org/volunteer! We’d love to have you.

Life doesn't always get easier.

There will always be hard conversations, unexpected setbacks, and moments that test us.

But over time, we can become better equipped to walk through those moments.

At Team Up, we believe resilience is built one small moment at a time. It's learning how to pause before reacting. It's asking for help. It's taking a deep breath. It's knowing you don't have to face hard things alone.

Our goal isn't to eliminate every challenge a child will face. It's to help them build the confidence, tools, and relationships they'll need to navigate those challenges when they come.

Because strength isn't about avoiding hard things—it's about learning how to handle them, together.

July was one we'll never forget!

This month, we celebrated incredible leaders who poured into our kids with so much care and dedication. We watched friendships grow, confidence build, and laughed A LOT.

And just like that, we wrapped up another unforgettable Team Up Summer Camp.

To every camper, mentor, volunteer, facilitator, and supporter—thank you for making this summer so special. Your time, encouragement, and generosity created memories and relationships that will last long after summer ends.

And now we say hello to August! And go time as we get ready to start mentor nights back🎉
