We were all in tears today. 💙

This afternoon, our Walton Barrow Board of REALTORS® membership meeting was wrapping up. We were talking about how we need to “get busy” on the Toy Trot 5k. We’re just under 50% of our goal, and race day is only about a month away.

Then a woman at the back of the room, who isn’t even a member of our Board, spoke up. Her voice was shaking.

“I know I’m not a member of this organization, but last year my niece was selected to Shop with a Hero in Barrow. I attended with her, and the smile on her face and the other children’s was indescribable. You don’t know how important what you’re doing is to these families. Thank you so much. Again, I’m sorry to interrupt your meeting.”

She was crying. We all were.

Every year, the Toy Trot 5k raises funds so children in Walton and Barrow counties can shop with a Hero for Christmas. Behind the scenes, our Toy Trot Committee works tirelessly to find sponsors and runners, plan the event, set up the course, and clean up when it’s over. Volunteers then show up on shopping day to wrap presents and walk the aisles with these kids. It’s a lot of work, and most of the time we only see that one special day.

Today, we heard what it truly means to a family. 🎁

That’s why we’re asking for your help.

🏃 RUNNERS: Lace up, bring your family, your coworkers, your friends. Walk it, jog it, run it. Every registration helps put a smile on a child’s face.

🤝 SPONSORS: Your business can help us close the gap. Every sponsorship goes directly toward Christmas for children right here in our community.

We have about one month and we’re not there yet, but we know this community. Let’s show up for these kids.

👉 Register or sponsor today: https://charitygolftoday.com/event?e=28562&ce=cf3770
📅 Race date: November 14, 2026
📍 Location: Richard B. Russell Middle School, Winder GA

Please share this post. You never know who needs to see it. 💙

One of the committees that I serve on within the Walton Barrow Board of Realtors is the Community Service Committee. One of our projects this month is a "Stock the Shelter" for Pup&Cat Co here in Winder. Please scan the QR code for a link to Amazon for a "Wish List". However, No Donations will be turned away. You can leave me a message here, and we can make arrangements to get your donation from you.

Dear Esther,

I wanted to take a moment on the Realtor AE appreciation day to simply say **thank you**.

There is so much that goes into making the Walton Barrow Board of Realtors successful that most people never see. Behind every meeting, event, deadline, committee, program, and new idea is someone keeping all the pieces moving, and so often, that person is you.

Thank you for the time, energy, patience, and heart you give to our Board and to each of us who has the privilege of serving alongside you. Your knowledge and experience are invaluable, but what I appreciate just as much is the way you care about the people behind the positions.

As I prepare to step into the role of President, I am especially grateful to know that you will be there. Leadership is always better when you have good people beside you, and I don't take for granted the guidance, organization, encouragement, and support you provide.

Our Board is stronger because of the work you do, and our leadership is better because of the consistency you bring to it.

Thank you for all you do for WBBOR, for our members, and for those of us fortunate enough to work closely with you. You are appreciated more than you probably hear and certainly more than we say.

With much appreciation,

Stephanie Bramlett Bartlett
2026 President Elect

Today is Association Executive Appreciation day. If you aren’t familiar with this beautiful soul, she is Esther Calvert & the AE of our Board. Walton Barrow Board of Realtors has truly been blessed that she decided to work with us. Esther is the kind of person everyone should strive to be. She is kind, endlessly positive, honest to a fault, thoughtful, engaging, organized and truly wants to make every place or person she is near BETTER. She strives to go above and beyond in everything she does from coordinating events, working with members and affiliates, and attending events. She keeps the Board running and we appreciate her more than I can adequately express! Yall show her some love too!! ❤️ klh

- New and gently used books are welcome.
- Beanies and blankets must be new with tags to help protect patients from infection.
