If you want to experience the true meaning of Memorial Day, take a ride to Center Hill Baptist Church in Gratis.
In their cemetery, you will find the graves of three confederate soldiers, one from World War ll, one from Vietnam and one from the Revolutionary War.
They need to be remembered.

🇺🇸 Remembering Walton County’s Fallen Heroes 🇺🇸
Today, the members of our local VFW and the Walton County Veterans Association pause to honor the absolute highest form of service. We remember the brave sons and daughters of Walton County who left our communities, stepped into harm's way, and laid down their lives in defense of our nation.
To some, Memorial Day is the official start of summer. But to our veteran community, it is a sacred day of remembrance. It is a day we carry the names and memories of our fallen brothers and sisters in arms—neighbors who sat in the same classrooms, walked these same streets, and made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could enjoy the freedoms we hold dear today.
To the families in Walton County who carry the heavy burden of a missing chair at the dinner table: we see you, we honor you, and we promise that your loved one’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Let us live lives worthy of their incredible sacrifice.

We are incredibly grateful for the recent contributions by Walton Health Care Foundation toward the new Walton County Veterans Association building. This new facility will allow us to better serve those who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
A project of this scale requires a village , and we have found them in WALTON COUNTY HEALTH FOUNDATION and many others we will continue to recognize. A special thank you to Tonja Parr and Sandy Haupt ( Walton Health Foundation board members) for their unwavering belief in our project. It was great seeing you both at our open house.
