Twin Rivers RAH Twin Rivers Rotary After Hours is a service organization of professionals who are committed to volunt

Twin Rivers Rotary After Hours is a Rotary Club located in the Quad Cities. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at Radicle Effect Brewerks in Rock Island. Everyone arrives between 5:30 and 6 with the meeting starting at 6pm. Outside food is allowed into the brewery, so feel free to bring whatever type of food you prefer! As a non-traditional Rotary Club, and different from the other c

lubs in the area, we only have two meetings a month. In place of the other 2 meetings, we have at least one service project and a social event each month. We ask all of our members to volunteer at least 12 hours a year, and our Service Committee tries to plan more than one service project each month to offer a variety of options that work with everyone’s varying schedules. Some of our service projects have included:
--wrapped trees for Living Lands and Waters Million Trees project.
--volunteered at Gilda’s Club Bags & Brews event.
--helped QC Closet2Closet at their facility for shopping events for foster children in the Quad Cities.
--painted a mural in downtown Davenport for Dress4Success.
--Had over 70 people help pack food backpacks for kids at Riverbend Foodbank.
--volunteered at King’s Harvest homeless shelter in downtown Davenport. We have a lot of fun together, and examples of some of our social events in the last year include:
--Jingle Jaunt our annual Ugly Sweater event
--trivia nights at local bars/restaurants
--Rotary Night at the Ballpark at a River Bandits baseball game

Our dues are $45 per quarter, or $180 per year. We are a member of Rotary International, which is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

We’re proud to share the impact of a District Grant made possible through the collaboration of the Twin Rivers Rotary and Moline Rotary Clubs!

This funding supports the expansion of Assistive Technology (AT) across schools in the Moline-Coal Valley School District—helping ensure that students with disabilities have the tools they need to succeed both academically and socially.

This initiative goes beyond equipment. High school engineering students at Moline High School have and will continue to play an active role in designing and creating adaptive technology using 3D modeling, printing, wiring, and assembly. These student-built solutions will become part of a district-wide lending library, accessible to educators from preschool through high school.

This effort fosters:
• Greater accessibility for students
• Collaboration between general education, honors, and special education programs
• Real-world problem-solving experiences for over 90 engineering students
• A growing, adaptable resource that evolves with student needs

This is a powerful example of community partnership creating meaningful, lasting impact. Thank you to everyone involved in making inclusive education a priority!

Service in Action!

On Saturday, March 28, members of Twin Rivers Rotary came together at Lincoln Park in Rock Island to give back to our community. Armed with gloves, bags, and plenty of Rotary spirit, we spent the morning picking up litter and clearing sticks—helping make the park clean, safe, and ready for families to enjoy.

There’s nothing better than seeing the immediate impact of service, and knowing our efforts help create a welcoming space for everyone.

To top it all off, we wrapped up the day with an amazing cookout thanks to James Greenwood—great food, great fellowship, and even greater camaraderie!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made a difference. This is what Rotary is all about: Service Above Self!

🎁 Twin Rivers Rotary Spreads Holiday Cheer! 🎄

On Sunday, December 7, Twin Rivers Rotary celebrated a powerful afternoon of service, community, and connection!

For many years, our club has proudly supported QC Closet2Closet and their mission to uplift children in foster care. This year, we donated over 30 cozy blankets, some handmade at the event and others generously contributed by our members. To continue supporting foster families, our club also purchased Christmas gifts for a local sibling group in foster care, ensuring their holiday season feels a little brighter.

All of this took place during Trimble Pointe’s annual Operation Toy Soldier event, where community members drop off unwrapped toys to support local veteran and active-duty military families. The festive atmosphere made the day even sweeter—complete with Christmas cookies, a hot cocoa bar, games, activities, and special visits from Santa Claus (and Santa Paws! 🐾).

It was a fun and fulfilling two hours—and an even more meaningful opportunity to connect with our community and spread holiday joy.

Service above self, today and always.
