🏡 Welcome Home, Truman! 🔑
We’re excited to officially welcome Truman to the Washington Square Apartment community! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of handing over the keys to his new apartment as he begins this exciting new chapter.
When we asked Truman what attracted him to his new home, his answer was simple: “You can’t beat a short commute.” Being close to work was an important part of his decision and we understand the appeal of an easy commute!
He’s also especially looking forward to enjoying his new patio, which sounds like the perfect spot to unwind.
When he’s not working or enjoying his new home, Truman likes to spend his free time cooking, reading, and watching movies. Sounds like he’ll have plenty of ways to make himself right at home!
Welcome to the community, Truman! We’re so happy to have you here and wish you many happy moments in your new home.

Renew Moline is proud to announce the acquisition of Washington Square Apartments in downtown Moline!
Located at 316 17th Street, this remarkable late-19th-century building has a fascinating history and Renew Moline is excited to help preserve its future.
Originally built as five three-story town-home-style units at the direction of Charles Deere, Washington Square was designed by architect and builder Merton Yale Cady. Remarkably, its exterior has remained largely unchanged since it was constructed.
The building narrowly escaped demolition multiple times over the decades. Today, following a complete interior renovation in 2012, it provides 10 affordable housing units-five one-bedroom and five two-bedroom apartments.
There are currently two one-bedroom units available for tenants with incomes at or below 50% of Area Median Income (approximately $32,000 annually).
“Not only does the property provide much-needed affordable housing, but it is important to keep such assets in local ownership,” said Renew Moline Board Chairman Carrie O’Neill.
We’re grateful to the City of Moline and GROWTH Corporation for their support and trust as Renew Moline takes on the stewardship of this special property. We look forward to learning more about Washington Square’s history and celebrating its story with the community.

Happy National Intern Day! Today we're celebrating Charlie Anderson as his summer internship with Renew Moline and the City of Moline comes to a close.

Over the past few months, Charlie has brought enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a strong work ethic to every project he tackled. Whether he was exploring downtown, assisting with community development initiatives or lending a hand wherever needed, he made a positive impact on our team and our community.

We celebrated Charlie today with a farewell luncheon to thank him for all of his hard work and wish him the very best as he heads back to school soon to continue pursuing his degree in Mathematics and Economics.

Thank you, Charlie, for a great summer! We know you'll do amazing things and can't wait to see where your future takes you.

We're sharing this friendly reminder from the Moline Police Department regarding motorcycle parking in the Historic Block Courtyard. We appreciate everyone's help in keeping this space safe, accessible and enjoyable for all who visit Downtown Moline.

To our motorcycling friends that visit downtown establishments like Sins Tavern or the area of 1500 block River Drive, please don't park your bikes on the Historic Block Courtyard that separates Sins from The River House.

This is a courtyard designed for people to hangout and enjoy the nearby establishments, it is not designed to be a parking lot.

Leave the bikes in the parking lot and enjoy the courtyard for what it was designed for.
