This year over 140,000 pounds of waste was diverted at the Western Montana Fair by the Home Resource Green Team, including more than 120,000 pounds of compostable material! ♻️
This huge zero-waste milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the help of nearly 100 community volunteers contributing more than 800 hours to help fair-goers sort waste, and keeping compostable materials out of the landfill.
Additional thanks to all of the amazing food vendors at this year’s fair who were committed to serving their fair treats in 100% compostable containers, and Missoula County Fairgrounds and Missoula Compost for helping to organize and make these efforts possible.
