π₯ π¦ What a weekend! π¦ π₯
The Montana Long Course State Championships were one for the books, and our MYST swimmers showed up in a HUGE way! Please join us in congratulating both our swimmers and Coach Kirby Beierle on being named Montana Swimming Head Coach of the Year! π
For two decades, Coach Kirby has helped MYST swimmers grow not only into faster athletes, but into confident, hardworking teammates. Her passion for the sport, commitment to MYST, and dedication to building a positive team culture continue to inspire everyone around her. This well deserved honor reflects the incredible impact she has made on our program and the Montana swimming community.
That positive team spirit was on full display at this yearβs championship meet, which featured an epic Survivor: MYSTvivor theme! Our 30 swimmers were divided into two teams, AquaMYSTic (Pink Team) and MYSTpurpow (Purple Team) and spent the entire three and a halfs days competing for points, cheering each other on, and creating unforgettable memories together.
Points were earned by placing in events, setting new team records, displaying incredible sportsmanship, showing amazing team spirit, and, of course, by outlasting, outkicking, and out touching the competition! "It was so much fun watching our swimmers intentionally cheer each other on, celebrate one another's successes, and show so much respect for their teammates and competitors alike." -Coach Kirby
The competition stayed neck-and-neck all weekend long, and in the end, it came down to just 4 points! Congratulations to MYSTpurpow (Purple Team) for claiming the MYSTvivor title. As exciting as our team competition was, the swimming was even more incredible!
MYST entered the meet projected to win 13 Montana State Championships but MYST had even bigger plans. They absolutely crushed those expectations by bringing home an incredible 19 Montana State Championship titles!
π Congratulations to our Montana State Champions!

One of the proudest moments of the weekend came when MYST was awarded the Long Course Spirit Award Banner! π This award means the world to us because it recognizes exactly who MYST strives to be. Sportsmanship, team spirit, respect, and living our core values are the foundation of our team. With so many outstanding teams across Montana, it is an incredible honor to bring this banner home and add it to our wall.
The team results were just as exciting:
π₯ Girls Team: 3rd Overall
πͺ Boys Team: 4th Overall with only 11 boys competing!
π₯ Combined Team: 3rd Overall
This weekend wasn't just about medals, podiums, and championships. It was about teammates lifting each other up, cheering louder than anyone else on deck, racing with heart, and representing MYST with pride in every single swim.
To every swimmer, coach, volunteer, and family member, thank you for making this such an unforgettable championship weekend. We are beyond proud of this team and everything they accomplished.
