What if more kids in Missoula County knew how to grow their own food… and actually wanted to eat it?

What if more families had the skills to grow their own ingredients, cook a delicious and healthy meal, save on energy costs, and feel a little more in control of their day-to-day lives?

What if everyone in Missoula County had access to hands-on resources, expert led trainings, and science based accessible knowledge on natural resources, agriculture, nutrition, and community development.

Turns out—that’s exactly what’s already happening.

Healthy Acres Healthy Communities Foundation supports the programs of the Missoula County Department of Ecology & Extension—the ones quietly (and not so quietly) providing engaging, empowering, & educational youth, family, and individual programs, classes, and services that build real-life skills that make life better.

From April 30 through May 1, Missoula Gives brings our community together for a 26-hour celebration of generosity. Our goal? $5,000 to grow access to this kind of hands-on, life-improving education across Missoula County.

You can support this work and together, we can continue building families that are nourished, community that is connected to the land, and a future with all we need to thrive.

You can be an early supporter by making your gift now at: https://www.missoulagives.org/organizations/healthy-acres-healthy-communities-foundation

Today we wanted to share our gratitude for the people who stop to smell the Balsamroot, the individuals who nurture the land, and the families that connect a thriving planet to nourishment.

We are grateful for anyone who has ever wondered how pollinators make food possible, or stopped on a trail to pull an invasive w**d or two.

We want to acknowledge those people that make this work possible, the farmers, the ranchers, the gardeners, the bakers, the outdoorsy folks, the conservationists, the curious, and the supporters.

Rain or shine, we are in awe of this amazing planet and the amazing people on it.
Happy Earth Day!
