The Arlington Jaycees (part of Junior Chamber International) is the premier not-for-profit in Arlington that provides young people (ages 21-40) with opportunities for personal & professional growth, business networking, community involvement and social engagement in the Arlington Community and worldwide. Our mission is to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to cr

eate positive change. Membership in the Arlington Jaycees includes membership in the Virginia Jaycees, US Jaycees (JCI USA) and Junior Chamber International (JCI). The Arlington Jaycees have been proudly serving the Arlington Community since 1948.

In collaboration with the county parks department, we've adopted Rocky Run park in Courthouse. Our first volunteer day was a great success! We scrubbed down the picnic tables that really needed some cleaning, picked up over 60 lbs of trash, and raked leaves and mulch off of play surfaces. Thanks to everyone who volunteered, and we'll be back at it next month!

This past Saturday we had another successful volunteering day at AFAC! We bagged fresh produce for distribution to needy Arlingtonians. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

A rainy day can't keep the Jaycees away! ⛈️

Great seeing everyone yesterday at our August Meet & Greet, and thanks to Big Tony’s Pizzeria and Dive Bar for hosting us again 🍕🍷

We already have a lot in store for August, with more to come 👀

Connections.

In addition to our events at Red Derby and AFAC 💚 , July wrapped up with a visit from the The Cary Jaycees and JCI Senator Stephen from Ghana 🇬🇭

Continuing into August, we're heading back to Big Tony’s Pizzeria and Dive Bar for our August Meet & Greet on Monday the 10th, 6-8pm 🍕🍻

Part of being a Jaycee is getting out of the house. Meeting people. Seeing what's happening in the community. Our members have been busy doing just that over the last few weeks, from Arlington to Annapolis.

We had a successful (though poorly photographed) trip to First Down Sports Pub last weekend to watch Spain take on Saudi Arabia in the World Cup.

The week before a couple of us went out for some live music at the Columbia Pike Blue Festival.

Finally, last week we sent our Membership Development Vice President on a trip up to Annapolis to assist our sister chapter Annapolis Jaycees with some volunteer efforts at the Eastport A Rockin Music Festival.

We plan to continue to make this summer one to remember. Keep your eyes out for more fun events on our Meetup!

The response to the devastating back-to-back earthquakes that hit Venezuela last week has been widespread, including within the DMV.

Arepa Zone - Venezuelan Food has been collecting donations this weekend, and will be sending them out on Monday.

The Jaycees were there to support Saturday afternoon, and will continue to do so tomorrow. If you are able to, please join us tomorrow [Sunday] afternoon at the Antojitos de tu Pais location in Fairfax 🇻🇪
