During the month of May, in addition to FVKC Members being in the final planning of our 2026 show, there were 6 member dogs out raising money via the 2027 Pets of Missoula Calendar Contest. The contest raised over 20K to support the funding of phase 2 of shelter expansion and remodel. The member dogs raised over $5000 toward this effort.

After weeks of votes, shares, and support from this amazing community, these pets have secured their spot in the 2027 Pets of Missoula Calendar! 🐶🐱📸

Each of these lucky pets will receive a professional photoshoot with .roller.productions and be featured in next year’s calendar!

Lovely feedback from a community member after attending her FVKC event...her first AKC dog event...

"I had the great fortune of attending the Five Valley Kennel Club event this weekend, and it was amazing!

Whether you have a purebred dog, a mixed breed, or just love spending time with dogs, I would encourage you to check out this amazing organization and see what they have to offer. The club provides opportunities for training, education, community involvement, and fun activities for both dogs and their humans.

I think my favorite was watching the parade of therapy dogs. (Although Cosmo and Bravo running the Fast CAT was also the best. I think I can have two favorites)
I learned that the need for therapy dog teams in our area is actually greater than the number of dogs currently doing this important work. These incredible dogs visit places such as schools, libraries, assisted living facilities, the airport, fire camps, and more, bringing comfort and support to those who need it the most.
I already know many dogs who would love to help anyone they can...and this could be a wonderful opportunity to explore. You might be surprised at what you and your dog are capable of together!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. I left feeling inspired and grateful to be part of such a dog-loving community.

As a pet sitter, I'm around dogs every day, but this event reminded me just how many different ways dogs enrich our lives and communities."

The Parade of Therapy Dogs was a very special event to recognize and honor these hard working, dedicated Therapy Dog Teams. Thank you to all who participated & those who helped!
