Today, we remember the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

This day reminds us of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought and stormed the beaches of Normandy that fateful day. Their courage shows us that hope and teamwork can overcome tough times. We honor their legacy by continuing to strive for a better future.

As America prepares to mark our 250th anniversary of independence, we reflect on the generations of men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice helped preserve the freedoms and opportunities that have shaped our country's story for 250 years.

This Memorial Day, we honor their courage, remember their service, and express our deepest gratitude. May we never forget those who gave everything for our nation.

This May, DAR is honored to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month. Historic preservation is a cornerstone of DARs mission and a vital part of preserving America’s story. Across the country, DAR members work year-round to restore historic sites, preserve archival treasures, and ensure the legacy of our Founding generation endures for future generations.

We are excited to spotlight a recent project to stabilize and restore an original 1819 Binns engraving of the Declaration of Independence for display in the DAR Museum’s latest exhibition, Revolution in Their Words. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Teachers are the keepers of our future, and the champions of the curious minds who will carry our nation's story forward. This week, we celebrate every educator who inspires a love of history, service, and community in their students.

DAR has long believed that education is one of the most powerful ways to honor our founding legacy. Through scholarships, essay contests, and American history education programs, DAR members across the country work hand in hand with teachers and students to strengthen and support education in classrooms every day.

To every teacher out there, thank you. What you do matters more than words can say.
