Performing "Enkisuma" at our milestone anniversary celebration, our students brought this message to life on stage. As captured in this moment—where rich Maasai heritage meets the guiding hand of a mentor—their performance sent a unifying call to our entire community:

On Saturday, Mwangaza Education for Partnership partnered with Madam Devotha Sanka, Peace Club Coordinator at Mkwasa Secondary School, to lead an impactful Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Refresher Training.

The workshop convened 43 dedicated educators across 15 partner schools to re-examine the psychological and pedagogical effects of punishment while mastering restorative, empathy-driven discipline strategies.

Additionally, teachers collaborated on actionable enhancements to our Peace Club curriculum, ensuring our schools remain safe, compassionate environments for learning.

The joy in these pictures says everything. During our anniversary celebration, we were blessed to share moments with the true pillars of Mwangaza including former Friends of Mwangaza President Mary Jo and Rev. Kimerei!

Through Mary Jo's continuous visits working hand-in-hand with Mama Shoonie, and the foundational guidance of Rev. Kimerei, Mwangaza has grown into a beacon of safe learning and hope across Tanzanian schools.

Maria, a student at Migugani Secondary School, recently completed a Girls Talk training through Mwangaza. She reflected that the training taught her to "have self confidence, to protect myself, to respect myself, to never give up."

Mwangaza wants to reach 5,000 more students with this training and our funding deadline is TODAY!

It costs just $4 per student to complete a Girls Talk or Boys Talk training. That means we need to raise $20,000 by the end of the day!

We are more than 10% of the way to our goal. Can we count on you to help students like Maria gain confidence and reach their dreams?

"We Choose Peace Even in Pain."

On September 12, 2026, over 100 dedicated leaders gathered under this powerful theme to mark a monumental milestone: the 30th Anniversary of Mwangaza Education for Partnership.

Building safe learning environments for three decades doesn't happen in isolation. This celebration belonged to the entire community that makes our mission possible:

At a recent Girls Talk training at Migugani Secondary School, Naiputa shared her ambition: “My dream is to become a nurse to help my fellow Maasai community become educated and help mothers during pregnancy.”

Mwangaza began Safe Schools programming at Migugani only this year. However, students are already confidently stating their dreams and gaining the life skills to plot out a course to success.

Girls Talk and Boys Talk are school-based trainings for students, part of Mwangaza’s larger Safe Schools program. There are currently 10 schools involved. Mwangaza has been able to reach over 1,550 girls and 1,525 boys with this training. Each Girls Talk and Boys Talk training costs around $950 — or $4 per student.

These schools are relying on friends like you to continue - and grow - this program. To reach an additional 5,000 students, $20,000 is needed. Will you help us meet our goal by September 30?

Daudi Msseemmaa from Mwangaza Education for Partnership, one of our esteemed Tanzanian partners, visited LPGM's office at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Twin Cities in Minneapolis this afternoon.

He has worked with Mwangaza since 2012 and serves as an advisor, along with Phillip Wilder. It was a pleasure to connect with him face-to-face, since most of our communication is generally over email, WhatsApp, and Zoom.

Daudi's intentional, thoughtful, and authentic presence was a breath of fresh air for our team on this 87-degree summer day, and we were honored to welcome him to our space. Thank you for taking time to visit us, Daudi.

We were deeply moved by a recent visit from our alumna, FLORENTINA ULOMI who was an active Peace Club member at Mwakasa Secondary School for four years before graduating last year.

⁠She presented us with a framed card expressing how the Peace Club impacted her life—equipping her with knowledge, confidence, values, and lifelong friendships.

⁠Today, we also celebrate how the Peace Club inspired her to write a book about her life journey titled "KUTOKA GIZANI HADI MWANGAZA"(From Darkness to Light)!
We were truly amazed going through every chapter and seeing the many times Mwangaza (Peace Club) is mentioned.

⁠Hearing her commit to continue learning and spreading peace for the rest of her life fills our hearts with gratitude.

Thank you, Florentina Arbogasti Ulomi , for shining so brightly and reminding us of the power of youth leadership!
